Chris Dimitriadis is ISACA’s first global chief strategy officer. He’s held the position since August 2021, but ISACA itself has been around for more than 50 years: first as an organisation for IT auditors. Now, it is one of the leading organisations providing training and education, and credentials, in cybersecurity.
This puts ISACA, and Dimitriadis, at the sharp end of the industry’s campaign to close its long-standing skills gap. But ISACA tackles a far wider range of issues. These range from helping organisations understand the cyber threat landscape, to helping develop more secure methods for software coding, and promoting digital trust.
In this interview he talks to editor Stephen Pritchard about nation state and criminal cyber threats, the industry’s focus on ransomware, and the need for better collaboration between firms and governments.
We also cover why it is important for CISOs and technology leaders to consider not just cyber defence, but how they can recover from a cyber attack.
And we discuss skills, and how cybersecurity can develop as a profession.
